This Thursday (14), DR Flavors & Ingredients launched DOAR Volunteering, with the goal of amplifying its positive impact on the community by connecting employees, leaders, and different areas of the company around caring for people and sustainable development.
The program organizes the social responsibility initiatives the company has already developed throughout its 100-year history, such as winter clothing drives, projects with Junior Achievement, training programs for third-sector organizations, lectures at social institutions, pull-tab and bottle cap collection campaigns, and comfort food initiatives.
Aligned with the company’s values and ESG practices, DOAR Volunteering reinforces DR’s commitment to active sustainability and to building a more human, innovative, and responsible future. The programs and social projects selected for partnerships must be aligned with the pillars of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): education, social development, health, culture, entrepreneurship, sports, environment, and climate.
The name DOAR references the essence of the DR brand and the slogan “sharing adds value,” whether through sharing time, knowledge, or experiences.
The first official DOAR initiative is the “Warm the Heart” campaign, which invites employees to donate coats and other winter items.
Initially launched at the company’s headquarters in Jaraguá do Sul, the DOAR program will gradually expand to the company’s other facilities in Brazil, located in Estância, Sergipe, and São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo.
In 2025, DR Flavors & Ingredients celebrated its 100th anniversary. Founded by the couple Hildegard Hufenüssler and Rudolph Hufenüssler, the company is now one of the largest manufacturers of flavors, extracts, and ingredients for the food and beverage industry. It has approximately 1,700 employees, around 1,300 of whom are based in Jaraguá do Sul, in addition to operations in eight countries.
