The initiative brings together children ages 4 to 11 during the school vacation period, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the well-being of employees’ families

School vacations are eagerly anticipated by children, but they also bring an added challenge for parents, who must balance their children’s new routine with their work schedules. In Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, many families had an extra helping hand in making this time of year truly unforgettable: the DR Recreation Club’s Summer Camp, which celebrated its 27th edition this year.
Held from July 19 to 24, the program is designed for the children of DR Flavors & Ingredients employees, ages 4 to 11, and offers a week filled with games, discovery, and new friendships. The schedule combines recreational and sports activities, off-site outings, an overnight stay, nutritious meals, and opportunities for social interaction, all supervised by professionals in the fields of Physical Education and Education.
More than simply serving as a school vacation program, the initiative was created to provide experiences that contribute to children’s development while giving families peace of mind, reinforcing one of the values embraced by DR Flavors & Ingredients: caring for people both inside and outside the workplace.
That’s the case for employee Carolina Wodzinsky, mother of five-year-old Melissa. According to Carolina, her daughter’s excitement began long before the program even started. For her, the initiative represents a sense of care, peace of mind, and pride in being part of the company.

“This is the second time my daughter has attended the Summer Camp. Long before the activities even began, she was already asking every day when it would be time to go back. At the end of the day, she’s completely exhausted but so happy, and she’s always eager to tell us everything she did, from the games she played to what she ate. As a mother, I feel fortunate to have an initiative like this, one that offers a safe, fun, and thoughtfully planned program. And as an employee, I’m proud to work for a company that shows this level of care for the people who work here and for our families. We know how challenging it is to organize a program for so many children, which is why this commitment to our children’s well-being makes all the difference.”
The Summer Camp is one of the initiatives organized by the DR Recreation Club and is held annually during the school vacation period. Held for nearly three decades, the program has established itself as one of the most anticipated benefits for employees’ families, bringing together fun, togetherness, and learning in a safe and welcoming environment.
For DR Flavors & Ingredients, initiatives like this reflect a broader vision of well-being. By investing in initiatives that also benefit employees’ families, the company reinforces its commitment to quality of life, strengthening relationships, and creating an environment where people feel welcomed at every stage of life.
